I loved photographing Todd and Dagny’s wedding. Now a mother of three sweet little ones herself, Dagny asked me to be part of a wonderful birthday tribute to her Mom, Renate. And, it seems fitting to share a few of my very favorites from our time together on Mother’s Day! Thank you, Dagny and Farrah – it was an honor. And, Happy Mother’s Day to you all!

We were going to include their sled dogs in our session – but, opted to keep things simple: simply beautiful! Beautiful night. Gorgeous light. And, that chemistry! Their last winter here will go down as one of Alaska’s most wintery winters – soon, they’ll be off to Montana to wed.. and then begin their life together. Congratulations, David and Nicole!

Kristian and I had such a great time photographing their incredible wedding in Virginia. So, of course, I couldn’t wait for their winter session out here in Alaska! And, winter is exactly what we got: it was very cold the day we met up for pictures. But, we all braved the climate – and I’m so glad we did. Thank you, Jon and Corie!

Greg and Kim love adventure! So, an adventurous wedding was just an extension of who they are. A week ago Saturday, we landed (literally) on Red Shirt Lake, where – together with their family – they’d arranged a sweet spot on the lake to commit their lives to one another. It had to be colder than negative fifteen degrees that afternoon. So, their outdoor ceremony was – yes – brief and chilly… but simply beautiful. I’ve interspersed here a few of my wedding day favorites with the images we created a week prior at a local barn. Greg and Kim, I hope you’ll find that marriage is your favorite adventure yet.

Kathy invited me out to their fabulous home to photograph her beautiful family. The twins are getting so grown-up. Their friendship with one another is so sweet… and plenty silly, too. While I really cherish rich relationships with girlfriends, I’ve never had a sister. I so value sisterhood and the bond these girls share. Thank you, Tom and Kathy. It’s always a pleasure.

Briana is a breath of fresh air. It was a treat to spend an afternoon with her and her ukulele! Never mind that she’s beautiful. Evan was one of the most adorable little newborns I’d ever seen. And, it was so fun to capture him after a year of life. But, our latest session really revealed Evan’s little personality… sweet, funny, and perfeclty boyish. Tip for new parents: for trying moments in front of the camera, green jellybeans do the trick!
